Every actor dreams of a breakout role... but some roles break you first.
In the late 1970s, a group of aspiring young actors arrive in Hollywood and land a casting call for a new 1980s horror film, Monsters from the Deep.
Each actor is eager to prove themselves, stepping in front of the camera to introduce themselves, share their dreams, and explain why they deserve the unique 80s horror role. As their auditions progress, they perform the same monologue and physical acting sequence from the film, each actor bringing their unique interpretation to the character. Some actors go for intensity, others for subtlety, while a few struggle with nerves or lose themselves in the moment.
Through individual performances, the film captures their raw talent, ambition, and occasional vulnerability of the audition process. But as each take unfolds, two lingering question remains—what kind of actor will the filmmakers choose for their monstrous vision, and how far are they willing to go to land the role of their dreams, or nightmares? FROM THE DEEP is a nostalgic, eerie, and boundary-pushing and experimental glimpse into the world of acting and ambition.

This role is a PAID opportunity with pay set at AUD$250 for 3 scenes.
